Business Growth Blueprint book used as a guide for helping business owners identify profit leaks and achieve financial freedom through their business.

Profit is the Purpose of Business

Is Hiring a Business Consultant Actually Worth the Money?

The short answer is yes… but only if you're hiring the right consultant for the right reasons.

I've found that many business owners ask the wrong question.

They ask, "How much does a business consultant cost?"

The better question is, "What is it costing me to continue operating my business without one?"

Over the years, I've noticed something interesting. Most business owners don't have a revenue problem. They have a profit problem.

They're generating sales. They're bringing money into the business. Their employees are busy. Customers are coming through the door.

Yet somehow, there's never enough money in the bank account.

Payroll is stressful.

The owner is often the last person to get paid.

And despite all of their hard work, they don't feel like they're winning.

That's usually when they call me.

Why I Decided to Help Business Owners Become More Profitable

I saw something happening over and over again.

Business owners were sacrificing years of their lives building businesses that weren't rewarding them financially.

They were stressed.

They were overworked.

Many were convinced that all of their hard work would eventually pay off when they sold the business one day.

The reality is that most businesses are never going to sell.

Why?

Because they don't have a system that someone else could operate.

The business isn't profitable enough.

The business is too dependent on the founder.

The owner is wearing every hat and solving every problem.

The owner doesn't actually own a business. They own a job with a tremendous amount of responsibility.

When I recognized this pattern, I made a decision.

I decided to invest my own time, money, and education into finding a way to help business owners achieve true financial freedom through their businesses.

I discovered that financial freedom only happens through profits.

Not revenue.

Not busyness.

Not growth for growth's sake.

Profits.

That's become my mission.

The Biggest Myth About Hiring a Business Consultant

Many business owners believe they need more customers.

Sometimes that's true.

Most of the time, it isn't.

In my experience, businesses don't fail because they don't generate enough revenue. They fail because they leak profits throughout their operation.

The owner is working harder than ever, but the business isn't rewarding them for all that effort.

I see business owners chasing more sales, more marketing, and more leads when the real opportunity is often hidden inside the business they're already operating.

Before adding more fuel to the fire, we need to fix the holes in the bucket.

What Problems Do Business Owners Usually Have Before They Hire Me?

The symptoms are surprisingly similar regardless of industry.

Most business owners tell me things like:

• "We're busy all the time, but we never seem to have money in the bank."

• "Payroll is stressful every month."

• "Revenue keeps increasing, but our profits aren't."

• "I'm the last person to get paid."

• "I feel like I'm working for everyone else."

The frustrating part is they often believe this is normal.

It isn't.

Businesses are supposed to generate profits.

Profit isn't a bonus. Profit is the purpose.

My Approach Is Different Than Most Business Consultants

I don't focus primarily on leads and marketing.

Most consultants immediately begin discussing customer acquisition.

I focus on capturing profits.

There is a difference.

I help business owners install a Jumpstart 12 Operating System that is designed to generate and retain profits inside the business.

We identify where profits are leaking out and implement systems to improve profitability throughout the operation.

Because if you simply add more customers to an inefficient business, you've only created more work and more complexity.

You haven't solved the underlying problem.

The objective isn't to build a bigger business.

The objective is to build a more profitable business.

Real Results From Businesses I've Helped

This isn't theory.

I've seen firsthand what happens when business owners begin focusing on profit instead of just revenue.

Here are a few examples.

A Dental Practice Increased Profits by $176,000 in One Year

This business wasn't struggling with patients.

The opportunity was inside the business itself.

By implementing systems designed to capture additional profit, they increased profitability by an additional $176,000 during the first year we worked together.

An Auto Repair Shop Increased Profits by $101,500 in One Year

Again, this wasn't about chasing more customers.

It was about improving the financial performance of the customers they already served and tightening operations throughout the business.

The result was an additional $101,500 in profits during the first year.

An Electrical Contractor Doubled Their Profitability

This is one of my favorite examples because it demonstrates what's possible when owners stop accepting thin margins as normal.

By focusing on profitability instead of simply generating more revenue, they doubled their profits.

The Biggest Mistake Business Owners Make

Business owners often view hiring a consultant as an expense.

I believe that's the wrong way to look at it.

The wrong consultant is an expense.

The right consultant is an investment.

The purpose of investing in expertise is to generate a return.

Every business owner readily invests in equipment, software, advertising, vehicles, and office space.

Yet many hesitate to invest in improving the one thing that impacts every dollar flowing through the company: the business itself.

The question shouldn't be, "How much does this consultant cost?"

The question should be, "What return can this consultant create?"

Who Should Not Hire a Business Consultant?

Business consulting isn't for everyone.

In fact, I would tell some business owners to save their money.

You probably shouldn't hire a consultant if:

• You're not coachable.

• You're unwilling to change.

• You believe someone else will magically fix your business for you.

• You expect the consultant to do all the work.

The best clients all have one thing in common.

They're open-minded.

They understand that expertise can accelerate results.

And they're willing to implement the strategies that are recommended.

A consultant doesn't replace the business owner.

A consultant helps the business owner become more effective.

So, Is Hiring a Business Consultant Worth the Money?

Absolutely.

But only if you understand the objective.

You're not buying advice.

You're buying perspective.

You're buying experience.

You're buying a faster path to results.

Most importantly, you're buying a system designed to help your business produce more profit.

Because at the end of the day, revenue without profit simply creates more work.

And no business owner started their business hoping to work harder while taking home less money.

The ultimate goal isn't to build a business that looks successful from the outside.

It's to build a business that financially rewards the owner on the inside.

Because profit is the purpose.
